"Beyond this door, the nave breathes with echoes of the faithful."

The Narthex is the breath before devotion.

Here, the pilgrim steps from the dust and wind into the first shadowed arch. The air changes — softer, heavier — as if the walls themselves hold the memory of countless confessions.

Between the outer world and the nave, there is this space of pause. Candles burn low, the stone cool beneath your feet. Here, you are neither in the streets nor among the saints, but in a threshold that belongs to both.

Those who linger may hear the faint echo of the nave beyond, or the rustle of robes from a figure who will not name themselves.

In the Narthex, you are not yet known — but you are no longer unseen.
